Britney Spears' career has been more than overshadowed by her party antics. In recent weeks, her return into the spotlight was entirely marked by her many wild night out clubbing, her close relationship with Paris Hilton, her shopping sprees and (let us not forget) her pantyless 'mishaps'.
There was little word of her music comeback and, save the couple of times when she was seen exiting a recording studio, it was as if it had never existed. Now, there is also a reason for why all this happened because, normally, such situations are easily solved by a well-trained and well-paid publicist.
At the end of September, momma Spears fired her long time spokesperson and publicist, Leslie Sloane-Zelnick and, at the time, it was believed she did it because she was not satisfied with the way Zelnick handled her public image. Plus, rumor had it that she wanted to begin her comeback in showbiz with the sale of the photos with her second son, a thing that Zelnick did not agree upon.
Anyway, who fired whom is now no longer essential because her second representative, the one Jive Records assigned to her, quit these days. Fed up with the bad press Brit Brit and her Vag Vag have been getting, Sonia Muckle left her to her own devices. Even more, she is leaving the label altogether.
'I left of my own accord. This has been in the works for several months', Muckle said, hinting that she decided to dump Britney and Jive in order to be able to start her own marketing and promotions company. But many media outlets speculate that she could no longer face and deal with the negative image that people now have about Spears.
Until Britney finds the time to hire a new personal publicist, Jive Records will undertake the task of dealing with the publicity for the fallen pop star themselves. Well, good luck to them all! They are going to need it...
