First of all, the simple idea of having photo frames (and of course, photos of your beloved ones) and speakers, all mixed together, is a tad weird. Nevertheless, a Korean company by the name of Miraeplasma, thought these two can go together very well and have issued a new version of their ultra-slim, plasma film speakers. The Koreans say that the new model, codename MP-170 has received a lot of improvements as far as output power and sonic character
are concerned, and the response of these speakers is mow comparable with the one obtained with classical loudspeakers.

From what you can see from Aving's pictures of the product, we're dealing with a pair of stereo speakers that look really good and are most suitable for small-scale applications on you desktop, especially neat as their footprint is small and will not crowd up your tabletop. Now, there is no word on the actual frequency response or whether a subwoofer is also provided; in any case, it seems that an additional bass unit is needed in order to enjoy a rich and full sonic performance.

Cool, slim design

Well, as for the other thing these loudspeakers do, things are getting really funny. These speakers are not only thin, but they can actually accommodate a picture of someone you love, cats, dogs and Guinea pigs included, as long as you have it in the right dimensions. I really can't tell how things are going to look like, as you'll have a picture of your beloved grandmother on the left speaker and your honey on the right one and will listen to either some Cannibal Corpse or that candy shop song from 50Cent...

A neat idea

Now, you'll manage to find the right balance between such aspect of your office life, hopefully... the MP-170 sells in Korea so far, for a neat price around $33; even if no word of this speaker system hitting other markets has been released yet, it will surely be a success as I'm sure that both Americans and Europeans will dig such a tech combo.
