This week, Spb Software announced the availability of its highly acclaimed Spb TV application on the BlackBerry platform. Starting this week, BlackBerry fans will be able to watch favorite shows, movies or news directly on their device. Spb TV is only compatible with BlackBerry smartphones running version 4.3 or a higher operating system. The application supports such must-have TV features as a TV browser with a quick channel preview, an instantly accessible TV guide for all offered channels, quick channel switching, and more.

To be able tot fully utilize Spb TV services, an Internet connection is required. I suggest using the Wi-Fi connection, but, in case you're not near a hot spot, at least a 3G Internet connection should be employed, in order to have a smooth online TV experience. In case you have a lower network connection or you simply experience network fluctuations, Spb TV will automatically reduce the video quality, but it will keep the audio quality at the same level.

After downloading and installing the application, you can start selecting and organizing your favorite channels. You can easily do this, as the application features an integrated TV guide. It can provide more than 1,000 TV channels with a free subscription and a quick channel preview.

Every new window that you'll browse has a special set of options that can be accessed by clicking the MENU key of your BlackBerry smartphone. You can also use the trackball of the device to select or unselect a channel when organizing the channel list. Last but not least, all TV programs can be seen in full screen, but the quality of the image depends on the Internet connection. An Spb TV trial version is available for download, in case you don't want to buy the USD 9.95, full version of the application.
