Spb Software, a worldwide leading developer of Windows Mobile-based applications, announced the release of its Spb Wallet 2.0, meant for both WinMo and Symbian-based smartphones, while also planning to launch an iPhone/iPod version on Apple Stores in the near future. The software solution comes as a secure repository for users' valuable private information.

Spb Wallet 2.0 can store PINs, passwords, keys, or account, passport and credit card numbers. It comes both for non- and touchscreen WM-based handsets and for Symbian Series 60 smartphones (including Nokia 5800 touchscreen), and it will become available as a version for Apple's iPhone and iPod, as well as a desktop component. The multiplatform support the Spb Wallet comes with offers users a way to keep data safe, while also being able to swap phones or mobile platforms.

Spb moved to the new multiplatform approach in the development of its product in an attempt to strengthen even more its position as a partner to mobile network carriers. “The Windows Mobile platform will always stay our primary focus,” stated Vassili Philippov, Spb Software COO. “But we strive to adjust our offer to meet the demands of mobile operators, who are interested in solutions that cover a wider subscriber base, and can run on all major mobile platforms.”

Spb Wallet uses AES 256-encryption to store sensitive information and also uses password-protection, while providing support for automatic lockup, clipboard cleanup, and protection from phishing. In addition, it also allows data to be synced and accessed from multiple PCs and mobile devices.

The MinMo version of Spb Wallet comes with Autocomplete for PIE, new finger-friendly UI, adaptive skins, smart scrolling, gestures, animation effects, and a new logon panel feature, while the desktop version delivers web browser integration, automatic capture of login information, password generator and migration wizard from other similar applications.

Spb Wallet 2.0 comes with support for Windows Desktop (2000, 2003, XP, Vista), Windows Mobile 5+ (Professional and Standard), Apple iPhone and iPod, Symbian S60 (9.0+), Online Templates Gallery, which offers over 7,000 most popular cards, advanced integration with Firefox and IE, synchronization with Google mail, network folders, Apple iPhone via Bonjour, active card fields directly from Spb Wallet (open websites, send emails, send text messages, make phone calls, and copy data to clipboard), as well as quick search.
