Spb Software, a leading maker of Windows Mobile applications, announced that it had worked closely with Microsoft and Netflix for the development of an official Netflix application for Windows-powered phones for the first time in the world.

The application in question is the Mobile Manager for Netflix, which comes as an on-device software solution capable of seamlessly connecting with the Netflix web service, thus providing users with the ability to search through the entire Netflix library. In addition, users will also be able to view the movie details, manage the DVD queue, as well as add movies to Instant Queue directly from their Windows Mobile handsets. In addition, the Mobile Manager for Netflix comes with an exclusive feature that offers the option to view movie trailers directly on the phone's screen.

As Spb Software announced, the Mobile Manager for Netflix is the result of the development cooperation between the company, Microsoft and Netflix. The user interface of the application has been built around the Spb Mobile Shell UI engine, which is used in other popular applications as well, including Spb Wallet, Spb Online, Spb Weather, or Spb Traveler.

Spb Mobile Shell UI engine can deliver optimization and efficiency to the user interface, while also speeding the service navigation. The Mobile Manager application benefits from the speedy finger-friendly UI, leveraging the user experience, while offering the possibility to play trailers while on the go, or perform other actions like watching movies on TV screens using Microsoft’s Xbox 360.

“Windows phones help people access the information they care about most, bringing together the Web, the PC and the phone – all in one device,” said Steve Hegenderfer, group product manager at Microsoft, Corp. “We are very excited to work with Spb Software to bring the popular Netflix service to our customers, giving them easy access to their account and favorite movies while on the go.”
