SparkyLinux, a lightweight, fast and simple Linux distribution designed for both old and new computers featuring customized Enlightenment and LXDE desktops, is now at version 3.1.

SparkyLinux 3.0 “Annagerman” system is built on Debian GNU/Linux “Jessie,” just like the previous versions.

The developers have decided to upgrade the Linux kernel to version 3.10-3 (3.10.11-1) and to update all the packages from the Debian testing repositories as of September 27, 2013.

Also, the TeamViewer client has been added for remote controlling other machines, Sparky APTus has been implemented (mall, simply and lightweight frontend for “apt-get”), and a number of other applications such as Minitube, Gnote, Osmo, and Radiotray.

A complete list of changes and new features can be found in the official announcement of the SparkyLinux distro. Download SparkyLinux 3.1 right now from Softpedia.
