Sparkle to Unveil the Calibre P888+ Graphics Card With GDP2 Daughter Card

The daughter card will provide the user with environmental info, such as the GPU temperature

Sparkle has just announced the Calibre P888 Graphics Card with Innovative GDP2 Daughter Card. The Calibre P888 is built on Nvidia's GeForce 8800 GT graphics processing unit (GPU) and comes with a creative
second generation GDP2 daughter card. A daughter card is an expansion module that plugs into a slot, usually on the motherboard, in order to grant extended functionality. In Sparkle's case, the GDP2 Daughter Card plugs directly into the Calibre P888 in order to provide gamers with accurate details.

The Calibre P888 Graphics Card comes with the unified architecture technology and dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics, or pixel shading operations, and thus doubling the gaming performance as compared to previous models. The card also features Nvidia's Lumenex Engine, that provides support for the DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0, as well as the Nvidia Quantum Effects technology for physics computation.

When compared to the reference GeForce 8800 GT graphics card, the Calibre P888 features higher GPU and memory core speeds (675MHz and 2000 MHz, respectively). The card also comes with 112 stream processors clocked at 1728MHz and features PCI-Express 2.0 support for increased bandwidth rate, but it has maintained the legacy support for the PCI-Express 1.1 motherboards.

The video card comes with a second generation of Graphics Display Port (GDP) daughter card- GDP2, that can display the real-time GPU temperature, GPU working voltage, fan speed and the Calibre Logo on a small, backlit LCD display.
