First spotted a few months ago during CeBIT 2011, Sparkle's Calibre X580 Captain graphics card, that is based on the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 core and can support up to four displays, is set to make its official debut at the upcoming Computex fair.

The announcement was made by Sparkle in a press release and the card is expected to become available in retail soon after Computex 2011 is over.

No pictures of the Calibre X580 Captain were provided by the company, but the previous version of the card that was showcased at CeBIT used Nvidia's reference GTX 580 design.

The only thing that makes the Captain stand out from all the other GTX 580 solutions is its support for multi-monitor setups as the graphics card is equipped with three Mini DisplayPort outputs and a pair of dual-link DVI ports.

According to Sparkle, these can be configured to display a single image on up to three monitors simultaneously, or two divided images spanning across four screens at once.

The GeForce GTX 580 graphics card is based on the GF110 core and features 512 stream processors, 64 texturing units, 48 ROP units as well as a 384-bit memory bus that is connected to 1.5GB of GDDR5 frame buffer.

The stock operating frequencies of Nvidia's card are set at 772MHz for the core, while the memory is clocked at 1002MHz (4008MHz data rate).

Sparkle hasn't yet made public the clocks that the Captain will run at, but this could be clocked slightly higher that Nvidia's stock frequencies.

Together with the Calibre X580 Captain, Sparkle will also introduce a series of other solutions built on the GTX 580 core.

Furthermore, Computex will also witness Sparkle's re-branding as the Taiwanese company will now focus on “technological innovation, interactive experience and user-friendliness.”
