Considering how several graphics card makers have already unveiled their respective multimedia-centric video cards, it is not surprising to hear that Sparkle has developed a GT 440 as well.

While NVIDIA's 500 series is making rounds on the high-end and upper mainstream market, it falls to the 400 series to cover the rest of the consumer base.

As far as multimedia-centric cards go, NVIDIA, or at least its partners, is/are only now delivering the most recent GT controller.

The graphics card in question is better known as GeForce GT 440 and has already been customized by the likes of ASUS and Palit, among others.

Now, Sparkle has, predictably, joined in with its very own product, one which has a GPU (graphics processing unit) clock speed of 810 MHz.

This processor is paired with either 512 MB GDDR5 or 1 GB of DDR3 VRAM, plus a memory interface of 128 bits.

“The SPARKLE GeForce GT 440 Graphics Cards provides incredible large 1024MB DDR3 video memory and 512MB high speed GDDR5 video memory to mainstream users, to satisfy the rigorous need on the video memory bandwidth, conquering today's hottest game,” says the press release.

Meanwhile, the RAMDAC is of 400 MHz, while the 96 CUDA cores (stream processors) have a shader clock of 1,620 MHz.

In order to make its piece of hardware stand apart form the others, Sparkle utilized the all-solid-capacitor design.

Thus, the video controller has a more stable current, no risk of leaking, longer lifespan and reliability.

What's more, the smart cooling technology “delivers ultimate cooling effect for the mainstream graphics cards products.”

It involves, among other things, a temperature control function, which has the BIOS monitor temperature and change the fan speed depending on it.

Unfortunately, being a full-height instead of a low profile board, it remains to be seen how popular it becomes on the HTPC market. No prices were given.
