Given the fact that so many people from all over the world are extremely interested by eco-friendly, solar-powered charging solutions, Eco-Voltaic has decided to roll out exactly such a product, namely the Spark Tablet Case, design to protect the iPad or various other Internet tablets, while in the same time recharging their batteries with the help of the built-in solar panel. The Spark is padded with solar panels that are waterproof, lightweight and built to withstand abuse, while in the same time delivering 8 watts of power, with a peak output of 6 Volts, 1,333mA.

Although Eco-Voltaic underlines the Spark's extensive level of compatibility with the Apple iPad (given the fact that this is, after all, the best-known Internet tablet currently available on the market), the truth of the matter is that the case will work just fine with other tablet models as well, in some cases, the time required for a full charge of the device's batteries being actually shorter than the one required for the iPad, namely around 9 to 10 hours.

The Spark measures 13.5 x 10.5 x 1.5 inches (34cm x 27cm x 4cm) and weighs around 2 pounds (900 grams) including battery and solar panels, which means that carrying it around shouldn't be much of a problem.

Furthermore, the case sports an interior mesh pocket that stores adapters and cables, while being manufactured from 600D shell made from recycled PET (soda bottles), which is waterproof, lightweight and UV resistant.

As briefly mentioned above, Eco-Voltaic claims that their solar-powered protective case will work with just about every tablet out there (as long as it features an USB-rechargeable internal battery), as well as most smartphones out there.

The Spark Tablet Case is set to become available at some point in Spring 2011, but, unfortunately, no pricing details have been provided by Eco-Voltaic up to this point.
