, the official site of the National Police of Spain was attacked by Anonymous after authorities supposedly arrested six individuals suspected of being affiliated with the group.

For the time being, the arrest of the six hasn’t been confirmed or denied by the authorities, but they have confirmed that a large operation against the hackers is taking place.

“6 #Anonymous were caught by the police in spain. They're talking about a big anti-hack operation. We know. Expect us,” Anonymous members wrote on Twitter.

Anonymous Iberoamerica, one of the hacktivists’ official media channels, advises hackers not to panic, instead they’re recommended to follow “all the measures of security required.”

At the time of writing, the site of the Spanish Police is still being hit by a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack and it's intermittently inaccessible to visitors.

CBR informs that last year a similar attack targeted the Spanish national police after three alleged members of Anonymous were taken into custody.
