Nick Santino – the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the American rock band A Rocket to the Moon (ARTTM) – is the latest to fall victim to diet spammers.

Cybercriminals have hijacked Santino’s Twitter account and abused it to send out links to websites advertising miracle diets.

“Yup. Hacked. And why is it always ‘weight loss secrets’? That's sad,” the musician wrote after recovering his account.

Fortunately, unlike Kevin Bacon, Santino quickly removed the spam tweets from his feed.

Over the past weeks, a large number of celebs have fallen victim to spammers.

Earlier this month, the Twitter accounts of Fast & Furious actress Jordana Brewster, American actor Zach Roerig, British MP Jane Ellison, American television writer and producer Hart Hanson, and ESPN racing analyst Mike Massaro were hacked and abused to send out spam.

Update. The initial version of the article incorrectly stated that this is the Twitter account of the late Nick Santino, the actor.
