Kaspersky has released its spam report for November 2013. Interestingly, many of the statistics are the same as in the October report.

The level of spam in email averaged at 72.5%. However, as expected, the themes used for the spam messages were greatly influenced by the approach of the holidays.

In addition to Christmas-themed spam, experts have also spotted scam emails related to the recent typhoon in the Philippines.

As far as spam sources are concerned, there are no major changes – China is still the number one spam source. However, it’s worth noting that Japan and Romania have been included in the top 10.

When it comes to phishing attacks, it’s pretty much the same as it was last month. Social networking websites are still the most targeted, despite the fact that their share dropped by 1.3%.
