Spammers lure users to Canadian pharmacy websites

Spammers are once again using fake Facebook emails in an attempt to lure unsuspecting recipients to rogue pharmacy websites.

The emails are entitled “Your 2 unread messages will be deleted soon” and they urge users to view their messages before they're removed.

The links contained in these fake Facebook notifications take internauts, via a couple of redirects, to a rogue pharmacy website that advertises all sorts of medical products at low prices.

Users should never purchase anything from such websites. Even if you receive the products you’ve ordered, they’re likely counterfeit and they pose a health risk.

Furthermore, the personal and financial information entered on the site when placing an order will likely be abused for other schemes.

Never click on links or attachments contained in unsolicited emails. Also, make sure all your software is up to date, and that an antivirus application is running on your computer.
