The company doesn't believe anything wrong happened after the rocket achieved orbit

SpaceX is denying that there's been any problem with the Falcon 9 launch over the weekend. This came in response to some reports that something might have happened after the rocket and its payload achieved orbit.

The revised Falcon 9 was carrying six satellites into orbit so, once the payload was detached, there should have been only a few objects floating above the Earth, the satellites and a few pieces of the rocket.

But SpaceTrack, a satellite tracking service, shows some 20 pieces packed together. Some took this as an indication of an explosion.

"We have no reason to believe there was an explosion of any kind. Based on previous launch experiences, we do know it's common that the first measurements from Space-Track are not very accurate and sometimes mixed up ... usually takes a few days for them to sort it all out and that’s with fewer objects to track," SpaceX responded.
