A long-range strategic Soviet bomber has been put up for auction on eBay with a starting price of $3 million (€2.16 million).

The TU-95MS, a variant of the Tupolev Tu-95 known among NATO nations as the “Bear,” was an important element in the Ukrainian Air Force for a long time, and is currently held at an airfield in Ukraine.

According to the description published on the online auction site, the plane has been flown for just over 454 hours of the estimated 5,000 hours it is capable of. When it comes to the condition of the bomber, the advert mentions that it is “used,” and it will require extra work before it is ready to fly.

This type of turboprop aircraft holds the record for the fastest propeller-driven aircraft ever and was first used in the 1950s.

Tu-95MS, a cruise missile launching aircraft built in 1987, was retired by the Ukrainian Air Force after only 454 hours of flight and has now been posted for sale on eBay by a German seller. The plane has been demilitarized and the lucky buyer will receive all the appropriate documentation.

According to the Mirror, the seller is willing to disassemble the aircraft and deliver it to the ports of Mykolaiv or Odessa free of charge.

So far, the plane has attracted only one bidder, but there are still five days remaining in the auction.
