If you don't know anything about the animated movie Igor, don't worry - you're not the only one. However, things are going to change a little: it seems that it will be a really fun flick, since it is
described as a "playfully irreverent comedy that brings a new twist to the classic monster genre". Why do I tell you all these? Because there is a game announced to follow up to the cinema release of Igor and it promises to bring the same amounts of fun as the movie. All we have to do now is wait for it to be released, right?

Legacy Interactive is the developer and publisher of the game in the US, but such a title deserves worldwide recognition, so SouthPeak Interactive has jumped aboard and became co-publisher. We don't know, however, at this point, whether Europe is their only target or they will take the game to Asian markets, too.

The description of the game is very vague at the moment: it will be released for Nintendo's Wii and PCs, it will allow us to control one of the main characters in the movie (Igor, Eva, Scamper or Brain) and play together with up to three other people. We'll have to play within the locales from the film and "fight enemies and achieve goals that advance us through the storyline". Basically, all the developers have told us is that Igor would be a game.

"With Igor, we set forth to capture the unique mix of dark, yet playful aspects seen in the movie. It's a great game that can be enjoyed with both friends and family and will appeal to a younger audience as well," said Ariella Lehrer, President of Legacy Interactive.

So, it seems that the movie is the key here. And having in mind that it follows a hunchbacked lab assistant named Igor forced to serve a mad scientist while dreaming of becoming a notorious mad scientist himself and winning the Evil Science Fair, we have enough of a storyline. All we hope is that the game will manage to rise up and meet the expectations. But we'll get to see for ourselves whenever the game is launched (at the moment, the release date is TBA).
