South Park Upsets New Zealand's Catholics

The infamous cartoon series have really done it this time. At least that's what the Catholic bishops of New Zealand say.

The controversial manner of dealing with major issues the creators of the animated tv series use has caused previous upsets.

There were episodes that showed actor Christopher Reeve sucking fetuses, making fun of Tom Cruise's supposed homosexuality, basically everyone rich and famous has been ridiculed (just picture Ben Affleck falling in love with a sock puppet!).

The religious issues were not left un-touched and un-mocked as Jesus Christ is a constant character in the series (and is proved to be a faker, unable to perform miracles) and in one episode the Scientologic Church is being shown as just a huge scheme to get money from its followers.

The episode that raised the moral issues and caused uproar and eventually might lead to a boycott is named "Bloody Mary" and is about a statue of the Virgin Mary that bleeds from the ass.

As this wasn't enough, there's also the Pope coming to the site of the miracle. And, after studying the "miracle", the Pope decides it's not a miracle as the statue actually bleeds from the vagina.

Having not seen the show, the country's Prime Minister said it sounded "revolting". The half a million Catholic believers from New Zealand are to boycott not only the tv station that aired the episode (C4) but also sister station Tv3.
