Video game publisher Ubisoft says that the Australian version of its upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth has been slightly censored by the central government in order to get into stores, but the company has not offered clear details on the changes it has made.

PlayerAttack quotes a representative of Ubisoft as explaining that the Australian Classification Board asked for some changes because the game content was deemed to be too controversial for Australia.

An uncut version of South Park: The Stick of Truth will be offered in both North America and in Europe.

The game is based on the TV show of the same name and fans know that the kids featured in the show and all the other characters tend to use curse words liberally to emphasize the finer points of the narrative.

South Park: The Stick of Truth will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 in early March 2014.
