South Park fans must know that they will not be able to experience South Park: The Stick of Truth this December as it has been delayed for March 4, 2014. It seems that the game needs a lot more improvements than developers thought.

It seems that when the game was picked up by Ubisoft, they have noticed that a lot needed to be done in order to offer players the game they were expecting. Ubisoft North America President Laurent Detoc said “Within three weeks after acquiring the game, we sadly realized we had to turn this thing upside down if we hoped to deliver the experience everybody wanted.”

“It’s been such a major overhaul to get to the point where we are that we couldn’t let it go, even if that meant missing December,” he went on to say.

His thoughts were actually shared by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, saying “We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park. Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.”

Therefore, one can see that they preferred to make a game that will actually please gamers rather than take the easy road by just adding some additional development resources at it and afterwards take it Stone and Parker.
