It seems that, in the last episode of the season, Butters turns down Lisa Berger for being too fat. Later, it's revealed that his perception of female beauty is based on Kim Kardashian. Wendy immediately argues that Kim is “overweight” in real life and that she has “the body of a hobbit.”
Kanye West, Kim's fiancé in real life, is also portrayed in the episode, coming to the defense of his love interest and confessing to being a “recovering gay fish.” But even he isn't able to disprove Wendy's claims about his future wife being a hobbit.
The final episode of the 17th season aired on December 11 and it seemed to mock the recent attention the Kardashians had been receiving, while at the same time drawing attention to some serious issues, such as young girls' insecurities and our modern society's views of the ideal feminine body.
