North Korea’s Reconnaissance General Bureau is said to have a cyber army of 3,000 individuals trained to carry out acts of cyber terrorism against the South, a private South Korean think tank has revealed.

According to the company, 200 of these agents are tasked with posting comments on various websites to undermine South Korea’s morale, The Chosunilbo reports.

Last year, these trolls – which use personal information stolen from South Koreans to disguise their identity – are said to have posted over 41,000 anti-South propaganda materials.

However, the trolls are not the main concern. Other troops develop apps that counter South Korea’s efforts to block pro-North Korean websites.

Furthermore, some members of North Korea’s cyber army hack websites and alter them so that they redirect visitors to pro-North Korean sites.
