When Jimmie Sue Swilling of Anderson County, South Carolina fell ill, her husband set up to do anything in his power to make her kidney transplant possible.

According to Fox Carolina, 78-year-old Larry Swilling walked 15 miles (24 km) in 97 F (36 C) heat carrying a sign that asked for a kidney for his wife.

Jimmie Sue was born with a single kidney that was starting to fail. Swilling's story became viral and his wife has now got a donor, all the way from Virginia Beach.

"(The donor) retired out of services, and she's in Virginia Beach. That's all we know," she says after receiving the call from The Medical University of South Carolina.

A line of testing is still pending, but the Swillings are excited about a potential transplant on September 12.
