The Applebee's costumer pretended to be the richest man alive

A man reportedly tried to pay his meal on Valentine's Day with a trillion dollar bill (which means €727.53 billion). Michael Williams, from Sumter, South Carolina, dined at Applebee's on that day and offered to pay the restaurant check with the fake currency.

Initially, Williams wanted to pay the bill with his debit card, but it was rejected, informs Daily Star. That's when he pulled out the ridiculously large bill and gave it to the waiter.

However, the high currency didn't manage to convince the staff at the restaurant that he was the richest man on Earth. They thought the bill was fake and called the police.

The 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene, but not because of the absurd note. Officers detained Williams because he was apparently wanted on a pending charge.

After the arrest, the man received a sentence of probation and was ordered to pay a $262 (€190) fine, but with a trillion dollars in his account, he probably doesn't have any problem in paying the penalty.

Police are still investigating the fake bill incident, although “it remains unclear how seriously Williams himself took the attempt,” according to Sumter officers.

For those who don't know, the $100 (€72,7) bill is the largest currently in circulation in the US. Higher denomination notes were issued in the past, but were revoked in 1969.
