A new version of Soundtrckr for Symbian has been made available for download for those who are fond of using the application and service on their mobile phones, namely Soundtrckr 1.1, which is compatible with Symbian ^3 and S60 5th Edition devices (Java Runtime 2.1 and 1.4). The new release follows only a few days after a previous beta version of the app was made available for download, namely Soundtrckr 1.0.9, and brings forth some new features, as well as a series of bug fixes.

According to the development team behind the application, the changes included in the new Soundtrckr 1.1 for Symbian^3 and S60 5th Edition Touch devices, available from the Nokia Beta Labs, are based on the feedback received from end-users.

Here's what the changelog for the new version of the application includes:

New features for Symbian ^3 and S60 5th Edition (Java Runtime 2.1 and 1.4):

* Email and password are visible to user (this addresses the login failure issue) * Bug fix for application restart on S^3 * Proper display of artist/song in the music player

S60 5th Edition specific bug fixes:

* Nearby station application error * Faster response from music player * Various performance fixes “We also improved the experience on Soundtrckr for S60 5th Edition Touch devices with Java Runtime 1.4 and 2.1 beta. (We recommend using Java Runtime 2.1 beta and the corresponding version of Soundtrckr for a better experience on S60 5th edition devices),” a post on the Nokia Beta Labs reads.

Owners of a Nokia N8 smartphone, or of another Symbian^3-based device, as well as those who use touch phones running under the S60 5th Edition platform, can access over 8 million songs via Soundtrckr, not to mention that they have the possibility to enjoy a range of social and location-based features with the application.
