A new flavor of the Soundtracker for Series 40 mobile application is now available for download, namely Soundtracker 2.0, bringing along some new features, along with a range of fixes for some of the issues that have been spotted with the application before.

The new Soundtracker 2.0 for Series 40 application is available in a beta state for the time being, coming out of the door from the Nokia Beta Labs.

Daniele Calabrese, founder and CEO of Soundtracker, notes in a post on the Beta Labs blog that the fixes packed with the new application were based on the feedback that came from the Nokia Beta Labs community.

The release notes for the new version 2.0 of Soundtracker Radio for Series 40 devices show the following:

- Station by location with Nokia Maps API: Name a city in the world and Soundtracker will play stations from that location - Nearby station for Nokia Asha 303, Asha 200, Asha 201, C2-05, X2-05, C2-02, C2-03 and C2-06 - Delete station functionality - Added full support for S40 5th and 3rd edition devices.

In the said blog post, Daniele Calabrese recommends that users interested in downloading and installing the new application release should remove any previous build of Soundtracker and only after that should proceed with the installation of this app release.

For those who are out of the loop, we should note that Soundtracker is an application that provides users with the possibility to access a wide catalog of music while on the go, all straight from the handsets in their hands.

With Soundtracker Radio “you’ll get free and easy access to more than 10 million songs, plus tons of social and location-based features to help you discover and share music that you can’t find anywhere else,” Nokia Beta Labs explains.

The application is available for download both for Series 40 devices, as well as for those powered by Symbian (S60 5th Edition as well). Soundtracker 2.0 for Series 40 can be downloaded from Softpedia via this link.
