Similar to every other popular website, SoundCloud is also being abused by spammers. According to experts, cybercrooks are abusing the platform’s features that allow users to post links.

ThreatTrack Security experts reveal that one of the techniques, which has been utilized for at least 10 months, involves uploading files that bear the names of popular movies and TV shows.

These tracks, which consist mainly of snippets of meaningless conversations and webcam microphone feedback, contain user-added notes or descriptions with links.

The links can lead to all sorts of websites, including ones that promote paid services, survey scams that promise prizes, shady software, and all kind of other spammy content.

That being said, SoundCloud users are advised to be cautious when surfing the website. Refrain from clicking on suspicious links to protect yourself from scammers.
