The Nintendo 3DS handheld has managed to once again top the hardware chart on the Japanese home market while Resident Evil: Revelations from Capcom has been able to keep the top position in the video game chart, ahead of the newly launched Soulcalibur V.

For the week that ended on February 5, the Nintendo made 3DS has managed to sell 75,018 units, which is a decline when compared to the 84,789 posted during the previous week.

The second place in the hardware chart was again occupied by the PlayStation 3 home console, which has slightly increased its sales numbers, reaching 23,293 coming from 22,294.

The PlayStation Vita, launched in late December, seems to have stabilized its sales numbers somewhat, but manufacturer Sony will probably find the 17,141 units sold during one week disappointing nonetheless.

The normal PSP has continued to drop sales and stands on 15,847 while the Nintendo Wii home console is also slowing down and has dropped to 8,814 units coming from 10.396.

The Xbox 360 has managed to sell more than the DSi LL, the normal DSi and the PlayStation 2.

Resident Evil: Revelations, the 3DS-based zombie shooter from Capcom, has managed to sell 43,575 copies during the week. Thus it manages to keep the number one position in the video game chart, holding off the challenge of the newly launched Soulcalibur V from Namco Bandai, which managed to sell just 34,328 units on the PlayStation 3.

The fighting game was expected to do better and top the Japan chart during its launch period.

Third place has gone to Photokano from Kadokawa Games for the PSP, which sold 34,095.

The rest of the top ten is made up of: Ragnarok Odyssey, Armored Core V, Mario Kart 7, Monster Hunter Tri G, Super Mario 3D Land, Gran Turismo 5 Spec II and Dragon Age II.
