The folks at MobileBits have just launched the open beta of a new RPG title for Android smartphones and tablets called “SoulCraft.”

The game will be available in Tegra Zone and Google Play store for all devices powered by Nvidia chipsets, but also for other Android devices.

According to developers, there will be two versions launched on the market, a high-end version for devices equipped with quad-core Tegra 3 processors, and a less-featured variant for all other Android handsets and tablets.

For the time being, the game is in open beta, so Android users have free access to all the game’s features. Furthermore, the MobileBits is expected to release “SoulCraft” in a free-to-play format for Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7 platforms.

It’s unclear if the HD version of the game will be available for free as well via Tegra Zone. Hopefully, the developers will clear this one up as soon as the open beta period ends.

The story of the game doesn’t come with anything new, on the contrary. The trailer of the game depicts an epic fight between angels, demons and humans. Sounds familiar? If not, then you haven’t played Darksiders yet.

Although there are some similarities between the two background stories, “SoulCraft” will offer players the possibility to choose their own faction. There are three characters to choose from as the game lets gamers play as an angel, demon or human.

The game is created with the Delta Engine owned by MobileBits. According to them, “SoulCraft” will be continuously improved with new locations, characters, spells, items, weapons and other stuff.

Currently, there are five locations available within the game: Venice, Rome, Hamburg, New York and Cambodia. It is also worth mentioning that the beta version only allows users to play as angels, but demon and human races will soon be added.

“SoulCraft” RPG is now available as a free download via Google Play and it should be compatible with all devices powered by Nvidia Tegra chipsets, as well as other Android devices.
