Developer Airtight Games has revealed the release date for its upcoming dungeon crawler Soul Fjord, that will see the light of day on January 28.

Soul Fjord will be a Ouya-exclusive title, a randomly generated dungeon-crawler with rhythm-based combat, set in a unique fantasy universe where Norse mythology meets ‘70s Funk. The game will be free to play, but will feature in-game purchases.

Players will take on the role of Magnus Jones, a legendary warrior that bravely met his end in battle. When the Valkyries bring him to Valhalla, the hottest club in all of Yggdrasil, he discovers that he's not on the guest list for Ragnarok, the party that will end the world.

Thus, Magnus has to fight his way up the World Tree in order to establish his reputation as the fiercest Viking in the world, and gain access to Valhalla.

The gameplay is similar to that of a roguelike, with procedurally generated dungeons and randomized enemies, with a unique twist, as combat will be rhythm-based, on music blending funk with Viking influences.
