DaimlerChrysler UK has debuted the collaboration with Sophos and will implement the company's security solutions. In this regard, Sophos's ES4000 appliance was selected to protect DaimlerChrysler's
e-mail network which comprises 460 retailers in the UK.
Sophos claim that the advanced threat detection, embedded redundancy, remote monitoring, and the intuitive web-based administration console has already blocked 100.000 more malware atacks than the previous security solution implemented by DaimlerChrysler UK. On the long run, over an initial period of three years, the ES4000 Email Security Appliance is estimated to reduce by 25% the operating costs related to the management of DaimlerChrysler's e-mail network.
"We wanted a single-vendor solution from a trusted name with proven anti-virus and anti-spam expertise," said Robert Cox, messaging service team leader at DaimlerChrysler. "Sophos really impressed us with second-to-none pre-sales and post-sales support. On top of this, its combined hardware and software products work seamlessly together - requiring minimal maintenance on our part. Results have been excellent - many of our users have commented on the difference and unsolicited emails are no longer a problem for us."
"Organizations don't have to put up with a barrage of spam and malware attacks, nor does preventing these threats have to be so time-consuming and high maintenance for administrators," said Stuart Small, UK sales and marketing director at Sophos. "DaimlerChrysler's use of the ES4000 is an excellent example of just how effective and beneficial a good security solution can be."
