IT security company Sophos has launched Sophos Server Protection, a solution that’s designed to protect servers against online threats without impacting performance.

The new product allows IT professionals to assign policies, view alerts and generate reports across multiple platforms from one single administration console.

Sophos Server Protection supports Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mac, Hyper-V, vSphere/ESX/ESXi and XenServer. The Windows client comes with additional features such as application control, patch assessment, and host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS).

The agentless scanning feature powered by vShield Endpoint prevents scan and update storms, ensuring optimal performance.

“Sophos Server Protection is server security made simple, because at Sophos we believe good security shouldn’t have to require the undivided attention of the IT team to make it work. Sophos Server Protection secures your business’s critical assets, without sacrificing performance or adding unnecessary complexity,” said John Shaw, VP of product management at Sophos.
