By the end of this summer!

Believe it or not, soon it will rain Windows Vista add-ons designed exclusively for the Ultimate edition of Microsoft's latest operating system. By the end of this summer, users of the high-end version of Windows Vista will have to deal with a flood of ultimate extras, Microsoft promised. To date, the Redmond company has failed to deliver on its initial promises for Windows Vista Ultimate. The collection of Ultimate Extras made available so far is but a superficial set of glamour lacking add-ons and broken promises. And yet again Microsoft delivers additional propaganda associated with the Ultimate Extras. Ultimate users (paying no less than $399 for their copies of the operating system) must experience a deep feeling of disappointment.

"When we launched Windows Vista in January 2007, we identified Windows Ultimate Extras as a unique series of add-ons that would be available to Windows Vista Ultimate customers. To date, we have released four sets of Extras - Windows Hold'Em, 16 Language Packs for the Windows multi-language user interface, Secure Online Key Backup, and Windows BitLocker Drive Preparation Tool. We want to let our Windows Vista Ultimate customers know that we are actively working to deliver the remaining Extras that we identified in January. Our goal is to provide the highest-quality, most secure and reliable offerings, and as a result we are continuing our work on these offerings. We apologize for taking so long to provide a status update to customers," reveals a message posted on the Ultimate Extras website.

Well, to be honest, an antediluvian scenario where it will pour with Ultimate extras is far fetched to say the least. This response was generated as a reaction to various public queries from the community related to the faith of the add-ons for Vista Ultimate. Otherwise, the Ultimate Extras team has been mute since March 2007. Now Microsoft comes to claim that Windows DreamScene will be available in no less than 20 language packs by the end of this summer. The company explained the delay citing quality issues.

"We also intend to deliver additional Extras in the future. In addition to Windows DreamScene and the remaining Language Packs, we plan to ship a collection of additional Windows Ultimate Extras over the next couple years that we are confident will delight our passionate Windows Vista Ultimate customers. We cannot identify dates or provide details at this time-but once we ship Windows DreamScene and the remaining Language Packs, we will provide more information about the next Extras," reads another excerpt from the message.
