It seems that Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) is already on sale on a web site - play.com - even if the manufacturer previously said that it will not launch its gaming console on the retail market up until November, according to BBC Online.

Unfortunately, the console will not be send to the commissioner before Christmas due to an extended European shortage. Furthermore, the next generation consoles will be purchased as 'pre-orders' for 550 ($1,020) from the online shop play.com.

As you already know, the PS3 is available in two storage capacity versions. Consequently, the first one features a 20GB hard drive, while the second has a 60GB storage space, being also more expensive.

It seems that the model on sale on the web site based shop is the 60GB one, and it comes with three gaming titles - the karaoke-themed 'Singstar', driving simulator 'Formula One 06' and the well-known 'Warhawk'. But the web site said that the titles may change due to several Sony delays.

BBC writes that the first gamers to benefit from PS wonders are the Japanese gamers, who will see the expected console emerging on the market on 11 November, while the Europeans and Americans will have to settle with a 17 November.

As you already know, PlayStation 3 is the 'descendant' of the worldwide success of PlayStation 2 and will eventually compete with Nintendo's Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360.

The gamers don't know what to believe given the circumstances. Should they order the console online or should they believe all the rumors which discredit the PS3's image?
