Sony Computer Entertainment officials revealed for GamesIndustry.biz that their company will make available a service to support the replacing of PS3 wireless controller.

As a report on GamesRadar.com mentioned that the PS3 wireless controllers
do not have removable batteries, for this reason, maybe the controllers will prove to be not so effective and even useless. Sony responded to this quickly and told GI.biz and these are only speculations and that the life expectancy of Lithium batteries is of many years.

Sony spokesperson also confirmed that when the PS3 controller Lithium batteries get defective, Sony will provide a service for exchanging them. The price of the controller has been confirmed by Sony at around US$ 49.99 and PS3 owners will be able to charge the controllers via a USB cable.

The SixAxis wireless controller will manage to stay alive for as much as 30 hours, with every 2 and a half hours charge, according to Sony. Several games will have SixAxis support, including games like Tony Hawk's Project 8, Madden NFL 07 and Tiger Woods Tour 07.

SixAxis will have some new features, like an USD mini-B port, and will be able to sense both rotational orientation and translation acceleration along all three dimensional axes, providing six degrees of freedom.
