Sony is gearing up for the release of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system for its Tablet S and Tablet P devices as soon as next month.

The company has already made an official announcement on the matter, and offered some info on what will arrive on devices, such as the same interface as on smartphones.

At the same time, the company plans on providing users with a series of enhancements to the camera, better photo functionality, edit photos in the gallery application, and support for panorama shots.

Moreover, the update will enable users to pair their tablets with compatible Sony Blu-Ray recorders and watch programs already recorded on these through a downloadable application.

The update will also arrive with "Small Apps," offering users the possibility to open a calculator, a remote control, or a browser window on top of the running application. Apparently, it can be used with YouTube, Google Maps, and the web browser.
