Starting today, mobile phone users in Malaysia have the possibility to purchase the latest flagship Android device from Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile, namely the Xperia Z.

The handset was put up for sale through Sony’s official web portal in the country, with a price tag of RM2,199 ($708 / €543) attached to it, GSMInsider reports.

For the time being, only the black flavor of the device was released, but the white and purple flavors might follow soon, it seems. According to Sony Malaysia, even the black version of the device might sell out soon, as stock is limited.

Xperia Z arrives on shelves with a 5-inch full HD screen, a quad-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with full HD video recording capabilities. It runs under Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
