Sony Mobile has released some very appealing Android-based smartphones this year, and it seems that it is working on making them even more attractive.

The company has just announced that its Xperia T smartphone has received HD Voice certification, which represents a significant voice quality upgrade, that’s for sure.

“Xperia T is HD Voice Certified, a GSMA accreditation meaning you can talk normally and be heard clearly even when in noisier environments,” the company announced in a recent blog post.

“This means that you can talk normally and be heard clearly, without having to raise your voice, even in noisy environments. Now you don’t have to shout to be heard. Or try to find a quiet place to listen.”

For those out of the loop, we should note that HD Voice is meant to make a distinction between mobile devices when it comes to the quality of voice.

“The human voice is replicated down to a tee, creating a quality aural experience that is vastly improved from what we have encountered previously with both mobile and traditional fixed line telephony. It’s almost like a whisper in your ear, you feel closer to the person you are talking to,” Sony explains.

To take advantage of HD voice, users will have to own a certified device and connect it to a wireless network that also offers HD Voice support. Users should contact their wireless carriers to learn whether they offer support for the technology or not.

It should be mentioned that HD Voice is not the only appealing feature that Sony’s Xperia T smartphone (sold as Bond phone in some markets, courtesy of preloaded content from the Skyfall movie) comes with. The handset also sports a 4.55" touchscreen – a scratch-resistant LCD with support for 16 million colors, and capable of a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, as well as a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait MSM8260-A dual-core processor.

Powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the new device also comes with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and with a front camera for making video calls.
