Following a variety of rumors regarding the possible unveiling of a new Xperia handset on September 3 during the IFA 2014 show in Berlin, some more confirmation on the matter is now available, thanks to a leaked image of the company’s press invite for the launch event.

Available courtesy of ePrice, the aforementioned leaked image suggests that at least a smartphone will indeed be announced on that day, although it does not offer specific details on what the device will be all about.

The event will take place between 16:15 to 17:00 CEST on September 3, something that has already been rumored.

In addition to the aforementioned smartphone, the company might also announce at least a new lens-style camera, the press invitation seems to suggests, XperiaBlog notes.

Should the previous reports on Sony’s plans for IFA pan out, we’ll see the company revealing the next Android flagship on that day, none other than the Xperia Z3, which might actually be accompanied by a smaller version as well, namely the Xperia Z3 Compact.

The new high-end smartphone is expected to sport a 5.2-inch full HD screen, a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back. While the specs are almost similar to those of Xperia Z2, the upcoming device should feature a slightly different outer design.
