Sony decided to impress its customers during the holiday shopping season by putting together a line of mobile computers that covers a wide consumer base and has an equally wide price range.

Since the shopping season for Christmas is more or less drawing near, IT players have begun to enact their respective sales tactics.

For instance, Intel not only launched a new SSD, but also decreased the overall prices for its entire X25-M series, so as to boost sales during the remaining months of 2010.

Now, Sony introduced a whole collection of mobile computers which were designed with special attention to the design.

They are known as the VAIO Signature Collection and have prices of between as little as $750 and as high as $4,700.

The most affordable of the lot is the 13.3-inch Sangria Red Y, with a starting price of $749.99, followed by the 14-inch VAIO EA, whose tag is of at least $969.99.

The next one in the series is an 8-inch VAIO P mini-laptop, which costs $999.99, can boast black or pink color themes and is designed with a crocodile casing pattern.

There is also the 11.1-inch VAIO X, in Gold and Black versions, whose tag is of $1,499.99, although it is not exactly a new product in itself.

Sony also included the 13.1″ VAIO Z in the collection, a notebook with “Infinite Stripes” design, which consists of shaded black strips arranged in a multi-angled monochromatic pattern.

It sells for $2,449.99, while the Z models, with Bordeaux Red and Glossy Premium Carbon themes, are priced at $1,899.99 and $4,699.99, respectively.

Finally, in addition to laptops, Sony delivered the new Gold VAIO J all-in-one system, whose starting price is of $1,549.99.

End-users at all interested in either of these machines need only stop by the special section that Sony has set up on its official website.
