After updating, you must do “ALL RESET” so no unpredictable behavior is encountered

Sony’s new firmware version 1.20 developed for its F5 and F55 4K cameras, as well as version 1.21 targeted at the R5 4K recorder compatible with the two devices, are now available for download through our website.

Version 1.20 adds support for SR, SStP SR-SQ 444, SR-SQ 422 , and SR-Lite 422 file formats, makes naming clips recorded on an SxS card through the “Cam ID + Reel#” method possible, and fixes the last clip name issue that sometimes wasn’t memorized.

Moreover, the F5 and F55 cameras can now wirelessly connect with other devices by attaching the IFU-WLM3 USB wireless LAN module, as well as display on the viewfinder screen without distortion images using 1.3x anamorphic lenses.

When it comes to the R5 recorder, its 1.21 firmware completely synchronizes clip names between the AXS and SxS memory cards, changes the root folder name to the same name as Volume label from CINEROOT, and optimizes the fan control.

Bear in mind that after updating to the latest versions, “ALL RESET” is required so that no unpredictable behavior is encountered, and moreover, do not use the R5 recorder with cameras having firmware 1.20, unless it’s updated to the latest version.

That being said, from the links below, choose the ones that best describe your own devices, and update them to benefit from the new features.
