Gamers have discovered a new way to run unauthorized applications and different games on Sony's latest mobile console, PlayStation Portable.

Although the Japanese producer has tried to keep the console "safe from harm", the controllers used to prevent installing other applications and games proved to be inefficient. In this way, several application and games unauthorized by Sony have found their way to the PSP.

The American version of the console has become the main target of several deactivation attempts, the gamers putting a lot of effort into bypassing the protection systems. Sony's protective measures have been deactivated this week with a program that circulated on the Internet. The application requires two memory cards which are switched while the console is functioning.

The method is not 100% safe, the proof being the warning message announcing that in certain cases the PSP might not work if the attempt fails.
