Nippon electronics maker Sony has finally unveiled yesterday the a6000 latest interchangeable lens camera, a model that comes to replace the current NEX-6/7 mirrorless models.

While some rumors state that the a6000 does not replace the NEX-7 and Sony is preparing to announce a new a7000 model, SonyAlphaRumors has received word via trusted sources that the PlayStation maker will not release an a7000 APS-C E-mount camera in 2014.

Moreover, the same source claims that Sony is now focusing all its efforts on extending the current FE lens lineup, to give its customers more choices when looking for specific focal lengths.

According to a new FE lens roadmap leaked a month ago, the Nippon giant seems to be planning to reveal a Zeiss wide-angle zoom optic with a constant maximum aperture of f/4 and a fast prime Zeiss lens this spring. A G macro lens is also planned to be announced this year, sometime in summer or maybe at the Photokina show in September.
