Sony's new Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS lens for 35mm full-frame E-mount cameras has encountered a few shipment issues in the past few weeks when, due to a production error, all lenses meant to be delivered to Europe have been delayed.

According to SonyAlphaRumors, it seems that US shipments have also been postponed by the Nippon manufacturer, which now displays a launch date of February 20 on the official SonyUS store.

Moreover, AmazonUS offers a 3-6 weeks ship date, while BHphoto has an expected availability of March 2014. This means you'll have to wait a bit longer before you can get your hands on this new Sony E-mount optic. In the meantime, European Sony owners who pre-ordered this lens have already started to receive it on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sony is about to announce its latest interchangeable lens camera, the A6000, at a press conference scheduled for February 12. The latest rumors state that Sony A6000 features the fastest AF of all E-mount mirrorless cameras.
