One of the smartphones that Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is expected to make official before the end of this year is the Sony Xperia i1 Honami, which leaked in press shots recently, and which also had its camera application ported to the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL smartphones.

The application was extracted from a leaked system dump coming from Xperia i1, which confirmed that Sony has in store a series of UI changes for its users, along with new Augmented Reality modes, a new Timeshift feature, and more enhancements to the camera.

As XperiaBlog notes, enthusiasts won’t have to wait for Honami to arrive on shelves to have a closer look at the camera improvements it has to offer, as a mod coming from XDA-Developers member krabappel2548 brings these features to Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, and Xperia Tablet Z.

The mod can be installed on these devices as long as they run under Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, it seems. More on the matter can be found in this forum thread.
