Made official only several weeks ago, the mobile phone comes to the market with high-end capabilities packed inside, as well as with increased durability, which makes it a great option for those who spend a lot of time outdoors.

Sony packed the new Xperia ZR smartphone with a 4.55-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) touchscreen Reality display, with mobile Bravia Engine 2 for a great viewing experience on the go.

As fonearena notes, the handset also packs a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor inside, paired with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the smartphone features 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, Xperia ZR sports a 13-megapixel photo snapper, with LED flash and Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and video, capable of shooting clips at full HD resolution, paired with a 0.3MP front camera for making video calls.

Not only does the handset feature Water and Dust Resistant (IP55 and IP58) certification, but it sports a 2300 mAh battery for increased usage time as well. In addition, a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio were included inside the smartphone.

Xperia ZR also comes with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, support for 3G HSPA+ networks, NFC, built-in GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors. The handset runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
