Sony Canada has just confirmed that the Xperia ZL is now eligible for the highly anticipated Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update at WIND Mobile and Videotron.

Customers who have purchased the Xperia ZL with Android 4.1.2 from either of the two carriers will now be able to download and install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean wirelessly, Sony Canada states in a tweet.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in waves, so it might take a while until it reaches all Xperia ZL devices.

WIND Mobile and Videotron customers who own the Sony Xperia ZL are among the last to receive this important update, as Rogers and Bell users got the upgrade a few months ago.

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean brings lots of overall improvements, including camera enhancements and much better battery life. It's unclear whether Xperia Zl will receive any further major upgrades in the future, but stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
