Although Sony Mobile has been pretty clear when stating that the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL will not be available in all regions, it looks like Germany will get them both after all.

We already know that the Xperia Z is available for pre-order in the UK, France, Italy and Germany, but the Xperia ZL is a new entry at European retailers.

PhoneHouse Germany is the first European retailer to take pre-order for Sony Xperia ZL. Customers who wish to purchase this one instead of Xperia Z can pre-order the device for no less than €600/$800 outright. Check it out here.

According to PhoneHouse, Sony Xperia ZL should arrive in stock in April, so there’s still a lot of time until the smartphone hits shelves.

Unlike the Xperia Z, Sony Xperia ZL does not feature IP57 certification, so it’s not dust and water resistant.

The latter is aimed at the Canadian market, but it looks like Sony has decided to bring it to some European countries as well.

Other than that, the differences between the two models are minimal. The Xperia ZL comes equipped with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Storage can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

The handset boasts a stunning 5.0-inch Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution.

It also sports an impressive 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Sony Xperia ZL packs a high-capacity 2370 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 500 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time (13 hours in 3G mode).

It is also worth mentioning that the Xperia ZL will ship with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but it will get an Android 4.2 upgrade soon after launch.
