We reported yesterday that Rogers would launch the Xperia ZL on April 2 for $625/€475 on no term, even though Sony had the smartphone on pre-order for no less than $675/€515.

Today, we have received information on Xperia ZL’s price tag at Bell Mobility. MobileSyrup reports that the Canadian carrier will have the smartphone on sale beginning April 2 for $600/€455 off contract.

That’s even cheaper than Rogers’ no-term price. However, we suspect that all major Canadian carriers will offer the Xperia ZL for the same price soon after the phone’s official release on the market.

For the time being, there are no details on Xperia ZL contract options, but we can safely assume that it will be offered for around the same amount as it is at Rogers, where it is said to go on sale for as low as $125/€ 95 with a new three-year agreement.

Sony Xperia ZL will ship in Canada with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but the Japanese company has promised that an Android 4.2 upgrade will be available for download soon after launch.

Furthermore, the Xperia ZL boasts a stunning 5-inch Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features shatter-proof and scratch-resistant glass coating.

Another strong point of the smartphone is the impressive 13-megapixel main camera, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

On the inside, Sony Xperia ZL comes equipped with a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit and 2 GB of RAM.

In addition, the phone packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Sony Xperia ZL will be available in Canada in black, white and red, but additional color schemes might be launched over the year.
