Even though Sony said that it wouldn't push its smartphones on the United States market, it looks like the Japanese company will bring its flagship device into the country in the coming months.

The smartphone will be launched as Sony Xperia Z4v, and as many of you have probably guessed by now, it will be launched at Verizon Wireless.

According to the Big Red, the Xperia Z4v will be available for purchase through its official retail channels “this summer” for a price that will be disclosed closer to release.

It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone will be available in black and white color options and as part of the Made for Xperia offering at Verizon, customers will have a selection of protective cases from Otterbox, Incipio, Case-Mate, and Tech21 available for purchase in-store and online.

Sony Xperia Z4v will come with slightly different specs in comparison with the international version of the smartphone known as Xperia Z3+.

Hopefully, there won't be any overheating issues with this version

The smartphone will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. It sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen TRILUMINOS display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and features Live Color LED powered by X-reality for mobile.

Hardware-wise, the Xperia Z4v is equipped with a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

On the back, the smartphone boasts an impressive 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony sensor, autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5.1-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Unlike the Xperia Z3+, Verizon's version comes with a Qi and PMA wireless charging support, as well as a larger 3,000 mAh battery.

“The Sony Xperia Z4v continues a tradition of high-quality smartphones that have the best of entertainment with Sony movies, PlayStation gaming, and in-demand features like a powerful battery, all on the largest and most reliable 4G LTE network in the United States.

“This combination of a great network and a great device makes it easy for customers to explore and enjoy what wireless connectivity can bring to them where they live, work and play,” said Jeff Dietel, vice president, Marketing for Verizon Wireless.
